NanoWattICs to jointly develop the STIMPORTER (TM) System for acute and chronic pain mitigation

The STIMPORTER is a patent-pending peripheral nerve electrical stimulation system that will improve present technology for acute and chronic pain mitigation. It is based on a re-usable active skin patch that can either be adapted to provide TENS on demand, or power a sub-cutaneous battery-less implant with a multi-electrode lead (for current steering) that is inserted via mininimally-invasive surgery. Patients will be able to apply and wear the STIMPORTER patch as a regular heat/cold skin patch. Straight-forward programmability and re-charging, ease of use and wear (virtually invisible), and minimum-cost for reimbursement are the main features of the STIMPORTER System.
